The selection, preparation, and execution of the various surgical and interventional procedures for port implantation and explantation are detailed and practice-oriented. This also includes specialized surgical procedures for recurrent interventions. The procedures are presented step by step with numerous illustrations and are partly illustrated with videos that can be accessed via the SpringerNature MoreMedia app. Other topics include effective interdisciplinary collaboration with anesthesia and nursing, as well as the economic aspects of outpatient and inpatient port implantation. The book is aimed at all physicians who perform port procedures, regardless of their specialty.
