Beschreibung
This study will have an within-subject design and will propose the question: "Is there a perceived difference between pulsed ultrasound, 1 MHz, 1.0W/cm2, pulsed mode 1:4, fifteen minutes per session and sham ultrasound at the carpal tunnel in healthy adults?" The answer to this question has implications for both the clinical reasoning of therapist in selecting ultrasound as the treatment and in analyzing the evidence regarding the treatment effectiveness of ultrasound in various studies.

Lydia Akins was born and raised in West Columbia, SC. She attended the University of South Carolina twice, graduating with a degree in Athletic Training in 2002 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. Since graduation, Ms. Akins has worked in both in-patient and out-patient settings with patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics.
