Autorenporträt

Anna Sapino received her medical degree from the University of Turin, Italy (1982) and specialized in Pathological Anatomy and Histology at the University of Milan, Italy (1986). In 1987, she worked at the Michigan Cancer Foundation, Detroit, USA, and at Columbia University, New York, USA. From 1998 to 2004, Dr. Sapino was Associate Professor and since 2005she is a full professor of Pathological Anatomy and Histology at the University of Torino. Dr. Sapino's research mainly focuses on experimental and clinical pathological studies on breast cancer and, most recently, on prognostic and predictive factors in breast cancer. Since 2016, she has been the president elect of the Italian Society of Pathology and Cytology. Presently, Dr. Sapino is Scientific Director of the Institute of Cancer Research (FPO-IRCCs Candiolo, Torino, Italy). She has lectured extensively at national and international meetings and published over 260 peer-reviewed articles. Janina Kulka received her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Semmelweis Medical University Budapest, Hungary (1982) and her PhD from the Doctoral School at the same university (1999). Since 1982, she has been working at the 2nd Department of Pathology, Semmelweis University, where she is now a full professor. Dr. Kulka was able to deepen her knowledge by completing fellowships in France, the UK and Italy. With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Kulka is an expert on the routine diagnostic work in surgical pathology and with regard to teaching medical students and pathology trainees. Her main field of interest is breast pathology. Since 2015, she has been the president of the IAP Hungarian Division. She has given more than 150 conference lectures and published more than 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
