Beschreibung
The manuscript reviews the main therapeutic strategies in advanced stage and relapsed ovarian cancer, focusing on the role and benefits of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy. In the first part of the manuscript the main biological characteristics of advanced satge ovarian cancer as much as the most common surgical procedures are presented. In the second part authors' attention is focused on the utility, rationale and technique of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy.

Dr. Nicolae Bacalbasa graduated from Medicine School at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest and conducted multiple studies in the field of gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology.
