Beschreibung

This handbook provides evidence from clinical trials conducted on traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) across all fields in medicine. Put together by a team of more 100 experts, the evidence on Chinese Medicine has been presented as systematic reviews with quantitative synapsis (meta-analysis). The information on direct evidence is generated from concurrent randomized controlled trials, and the indirect evidence is from from related interventional and observational studies, and a nest meta-analysis was conducted wherever found necessary. All studies covered in this work have been critically identified for their authentic, randomized controlled trials with an appraisal of risk of bias. The quality of evidence has been assessed by using GRADE profiler standard. This book covers 81 diseases and their treatment with Chinese medicine, with each chapter written in a uniform structure. The content is organized under 7 sections which are: respiratory system diseases, urological diseases, rehabilitation, digestive diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases and acupuncture medicine. The clinical characteristics of all diseases and the mechanism or principle have been described along lines of coventional modern medicine as well as with their expression in TCM special terms and theory such as zheng, yin, yang and five elements. This handbook is a useful compendium on current evidence available on Chinese medicines related to their role and profile in treatment, and prevention.
