Cancerogenesis is a method in which healthy cells transform into neoplastic mass, and disrupts cellular functions such as proliferation, differentiation and growth as a result of insufficiency response to the conventional control mechanism in cells, Cell reproduction in normal human tissues is regulated by a collection of proteins that control proliferative and inhibitory stimuli.

Dr. Dunya Lafta is lecturer of Drug Discovery in the College of Pharmacy at UOK. She has over 14 publications in medicinal chemistry/chemistry journals and books. In 2011 she started the oncology drug research her research team focused on the first-in-class sequence-selective DNA-interactive agent and G-quadruplex DNA targeting.
