Although there are few thousands of rare diseases known to occur in humans, there is often limited professional knowledge, experience and awareness of the manifestations of them and their most appropriate management because of the small number of patients having each one of them. Diagnostic challenges and difficulties, diagnosis delay, and misdiagnoses, inappropriate or unsatisfactory management are well known to be associated with rare diseases. The aim of this book is to describe a prototype of rare disorder Congenital primary cricopharyngeal achalasia, also called congenital Chevalier Jackson syndrome which was observed for the first time in Iraqi patient, and its occurrence was associated with diagnostic difficulties before referral to us. The patient received management that cant be considered very satisfactory or very appropriate in the presence of a therapeutic intervention that is considered simple and curative for the disease.

Professor Aamir Jalal Al Mosawi, a senior advisor doctor at Baghdad Medical City, and the Head of Iraq Headquarter of Copernicus Scientists International Panel. He is member of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). He also served as a member of the advisory council the International Association of Medical Colleges (IAMC).
