Beschreibung
This work shows the experience of author in the management of patients with infections of central nervous system (meningitis, encephalitis, meningo-encephalitis, abscess or empiema of the brain). The intensive care and treatment of patients showing mental and conscience alterations due to cerebral edema is described in details. The significantly controversial role of dexamethasone in the treatment of meningitis is largely discussed.

Born in 1965 in Dibra, Albania. Diploma in general medicine in 1989 in Tirana. Specialization in 2002 for anesthesia-reanimation. PhD in year 2010 and Prof. Assoc. in 2016. Position 2004 - today: ICU for infection diseases at UHC "Mother Theresa" in Tirana, Albania, and 2007 - today head of unit. Author of about 50 works (papers & presentations)
