As we move into the 21st century, the field of medical parasitology continues to see some dramatic changes, including newly recognized parasites, the spread of familiar parasites, successes and failures related to disease control, geographic and climate changes that support the spread of parasitic disease. The content of this book is limited to the laboratory diagnosis of infections that occur predominantly in the tropics. The discussion includes the diagnosis of blood and tissue parasites, intestinal parasites, and tropical infections caused by, heleminth and protozoon parasites.,
