Beschreibung
This book is an informative text on the prevention of Alzheimers disease, a personal and social need in a sickness without nowadays cures. It states that this prevention is possible because Alzheimer's manifests itself in old age, but it starts in the brain many decades before. Alzheimer's prevention must start from foetal life and brain development (1,000 first days of life) and continue throughout life with an adequate life style that includes cognitive and social stimulation, physical exercise and healthy diet. The theoretical and practical explanations on this prevention are made in simple language, reviewed by the Spanish scientific journalist Sonia Moreno. The text contains more than 350 footnotes with scientific information about the discourse of the colloquial text. The monograph presents numerous tables and figures, made by the creatives, Jorge Gibert and Jesús Navarro. The monograph ends with a glossary of the main biomedical terms used, bibliography and thematic index. This book has been published in Spanish in 2017 and its translation into English has been verified by Joe Healey and Felix Bermejo-Pareja.
