The readymade garment (RMG) industry of Bangladesh started in the late 1970s and become a prominent player in the economy within a short period time. The industry has contributed to export earnings, foreign exchange earnings, employment creation, poverty alleviation and the empowerment of women. This study aims to explore the changing pattern of life of female garment workers after being involvement in wage earnings. The quantitative method was predominately adopted to collect data using survey technique by interview schedule.Qualitative data through FGDs was also collected to support the quantitative data. 100 respondents were selected through simple random sampling from female RMG sector at Ashulia in Saver and Mirpur in Dhaka. The finding show that women observed many positive changes in their lives including household bargaining power, purchasing power and freedom of mobility. However, they are being exploited regarding low wages and lack of many job facilities.
