HIV Medicine is the upcoming challenging sub specialty in the field of Infectious diseases of Internal Medicine. Majority of practicing doctors even though aware of basic concepts in management of HIV infection, usually tend to ignore such patients due to stigma or risks involved in the management of such patients. This book is an attempt to decrease the stigma associated with HIV infection among Doctors and health care workers so as to create an enabling environment for people living with HIV infection and provide quality care without any discrimination.

Dr Shankar Dattatreya MBBS, FHM, PGDHIVM, working as ART Medical Officer at District Hospital, Tumkur, Karnataka, India since 2010 and serving in the challenging field of HIV/AIDS. Fellow in Operational Research from Union-WHO and Sexual & Reproductive Health from GFMER. Actively involved in educating youths & risk groups regrading HIV prevention.
