This book covers thirteen chapters in various aspects of statistics. The first chapter deals with the basic concept of statistics. The next chapter covers data collection and classification of statistical data. Chapter three deals with the presentation and organization of statistical data. The next chapter talks about descriptive tools especially statistical summary measures, including the measures of central tendency and the measures of dispersion. Chapter five, six and seven discusses regression and correlation analysis, time series analysis, and index numbers. The eighth and ninth chapters deal with basic probability and probability distributions respectively. Chapters ten and eleven look at estimation of parameters and statistical hypothesis testing. Finally the last two chapters deal with modeling business situations by looking at Mathematics of Finance and Break Even Analysis. By completing this book, users will see figures In a different light and would not just make decisions or arrive at conclusions without basic facts or statistics.
Autorenporträt
Francis Appau-Yeboah, is a lecturer at Kumasi Poltechnic in Ghana. He holds Masters degree in Mathematics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, and has over twenty years teaching experience.He was the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science of Kumasi Polytechnic from 2005 to 2011.
