With the rapid advancement in science and technology, machining systems come to our rescue in todays competitive environment as the machines are integral part of day-to-day and industrial activities. The computer systems, production systems, communication systems, transportation systems, flexible manufacturing systems are a few examples that can be cited for industrial real time systems. The performance of any machining system is highly affected by the factors such as variability of processing times, occurrence of random failures, randomness of repair times, etc. The aim of the present book is to develop and analyze machine repair problems using queueing theory. Various techniques of queueing theory to tackle modelling aspects of machining system are used to assess various performance characteristics for industrial systems working in machining environment. The book addresses the problems related to machining systems and encourages the researchers and practitioners to pursue further research in this direction.

Dr. Neetu Singh is Associate Professor of Mathematics in World College of Technology and Management, Gurugram. Her research interests include queueing theory, inventory theory & stochastic modelling. She has published several research papers in national/ international journals and has presented papers in several national/ international conferences.
