This book comprises of Finite Element Analysis and Optimization for different cross sectional area of fully floating rear axle of heavy duty vehicle like Ashok Leyland. Here; rear full floating axle shaft was designed on the basics of hollowness and stepped section between the mid regions of the axle. Multiple geometric dimensions of axle were adopted and dynamic loading condition were applied to check maximum value of stresses and deformations. This dynamic loading may be due to fatigue and vibration phenomenon. Ultimately; moment of inertia effect were verified for different cross sectional areas of axle under same dynamic loading condition considering various suitable materials. In the end; modified results were compared with original outcomes obtained in existing model to get best possible optimized geometric dimension and material for fully floating rear axle in heavy duty vehicle.
