Beschreibung
The book is devoted to the application of the principle of selective ignorance for constructing a mathematical framework for optics of ultrashort pulses, including their generation, cleaning, propagation, amplification, and focusing. The principle of selective ignorance has two sides: on the one hand it is a first principles method, and on the other hand it is different kinds of one-to-one correspondence (dualities and analogies).
Autorenporträt
Andrey Gitin graduated from the University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics in 1978 and started to work at the Vavilov State Optical Institute in Saint Petersburg. Here he defended his Ph.D. and Dr. Sc. theses.
