The proceedings of the Conference on Algebra and Algebraic Geometry with Applications, held July 2000, Purdue University. The conference was held in honor of Professor Shreeram S. Abhyankars seventieth birthday. Invited participants included eighty-five of the professors students, collaborators, and colleagues. Sixty participants presented papers related to Professor Abhyankar's broad areas of mathematical interest. Topics covered include: algebraic geometry, singularities, group theory, Galois theory, combinatorics, Drinfield modules, affine geometry, and the Jacobian problem. This volume contains an outstanding collection of papers by expert.
