Wings of the Wind is a classic depiction of the clash between cultural norms and contemporary higher-order personal goals. The women of our contemporary cultural scene have to be careful, because show of aggression, open or disguised, is taken by every man in our competitive culture as a challenge. The mature woman is secure in her superiority and will not display an overbearing manner, which would only rob her of her superior position the man, reacts to this challenge with a fantasy which is deeply engraved in his unconsciousness. Issa Adem is an assistant professor of literature and head of the Department of Eritrean Languages and Literature at Adi-Keih College of Arts and Social Sciences-Eritrea. For the last fourteen years, he has been teaching various literature courses.
