The book provides the survey report on the filtering techniques such as Average Filtering, Median Filtering and Adaptive Wiener Filtering techniques. It highlights a scheme to eliminate noise using Median filter. It specifically focuses on frequency domain enhancement with Log-Gabor filter and Fast Fourier Transformations. Minutiae extraction techniques and post processing phases are also discussed. New techniques namely Shift-Phase Transformation (SPT), Complex Conjugate-Phase Transformation (CCPT) and Reciprocated Magnitude and Complex Conjugate-Phase Transformation (RMCCPT)are proposed and discussed. They are designed to produce cancelable and irrevocable biometric fingerprint templates. The book furthermore presents experimental results and performance measures of the fingerprint template generation techniques.
