Modern computing applications are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated. This new book investigates the relevance and relationship between artificial intelligence and modern trends in computing. Using this perspective, the editor and authors explore some of the most exciting fields in computing today, including pervasive computing, autonomic computing, bioinformatics, artificial life, artificial synthetic life, DNA computing, and quantum computing. Each of these subjects is examined from two main viewpoints. The first viewpoint provides a state-of-the-art introduction to the subject itself; the second viewpoint investigates the subject from an artificial intelligence perspective.
