Programming is an already matured discipline, with rich literature. But frustration of novice to learn programming remains a problem. The writer has observed poor scoring in Programming and even fear to continue while he was teaching the course for beginners in universities. Keeping this problem in mind, the writer has conducted an action research while he was taking a teaching-license training program, taking the issue as a research title on a randomly selected sample of students. Causes of scoring low in programming were found to be inadequate examples in lessons, lack of appropriate exercises, difficulty of comprehending programming books, difficulty of understanding program control structure, etc. This book is aimed at solving these problems for novice university students & self-learners by providing solved examples supported by output screen shots, setting unit learning objectives, using symbols, self-test exercises & unit summary exercises and summary of important points, with simplistic approach. In this volume, Problem Solving Techniques, Basics of C++, Statements and Expressions, Program Control Structure with special emphasis and Arrays & Strings are covered.
