This book exposed Web Services inherent defects that may hamper its survivability and addressed one of the critical defects of this emerging interoperable distributed technology platform - scalability. It also exposed how scalable Web Services applications could be implemented using Java technology and evaluated using Apache JMeter. The book will be useful to programmers, systems developers, software engineers and researchers in distributed computing; Web Services in particular.

Godspower O. Ekuobase is an Assoc. Professor of Service Computing and Software Engineering in the Department of Computer Science, University of Benin, Nigeria. He was a visiting lecturer to KIST under the United Nations Information Technology Scheme in 2005. His research is focused on Web Services, Service Science, Semantic Web and applications.
