This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Workshop on Algorithmic Aspects of Cloud Computing, ALGOCLOUD 2015,held in Patras, Greece in September 2015. It was collocated and was part of ALGO 2015, the major annual congress that combines the premier algorithmic conference "European Symposium on Algorithms" (ESA). The 13 revised full papers presented together with 1 tutorial paper were carefully reviewed and selected from 37 submissions. The papers cover various topics such as algorithmic aspects in cloud computing, virtualized environments, NoSQL, schema-less data modeling, scalable machine learning, and programming models.
