. In this manner, the existence of a touch point may be confirmed several times with respect to a single pixel. The number of confirmations is the scan line density for the pixel. Even in a case where the reception intensity is low, the existence of the touch on the pixels can be determined based on the light received by other adjacent sets of emitters and receivers. This strategy provides the unique advantage that scanning ambiguity does not cause wrong determination of existence of touch.
