Beschreibung

In rural illiterate community in Sri Lanka and all over the world the information access is the key issue. Easy access of information is giving contribution to the economic and social development of the society. Most of the available means of information access like print media are useful only literate members of the society. Other information access media like television and radio are non interactive, computers and internet are interactive but not suitable for major portion of the society because in rural people they don't have enough computer skills. One solution for this problem is to introducing telephone based interaction with human-computer interface. Automatic Speech Recognition system (ASR) is a key component of such an interface. In Sri Lanka more research available in Tamil dialect variation, Tamil literature and History but we couldn't find any ASR related work. Therefore on this level my primary goal is to develop a speech recognition system for Tamil. This system should be adapt to speaker specific automatic, continues.
