As the famous saying goes an image can have a long lasting impact than words in some situations. In this digital era with the availability of wide variety of digital devices, daily trillions of multimedia data are uploaded over the internet. With the availability of huge data, researchers wanted to develop a system where given an input image the output should be an annotated image. Our Human Vision System is one of the most important senses, which the almighty has gifted to human beings. Object Recognition is the fundamental process of human vision system (HVS) that allows us to analyse and interpret the content based on the situation. The HVS is the motivation behind the work in this book which mainly contributes towards automatic image annotation. Computer vision is one such field which is recognized as an intellectual frontier whose boundaries of applicability are increasing day by day. One such important and interesting application in the field of computer vision where lots of researchers are interested is Automatic Image Annotation which is proved to be one of the most challenging problems.
