This book gives an explanation of iterated function systems (IFS) and how to use them in the generation of complex objects. It discusses the most popular fractal models applied in the field of image synthesis. Coverage also presents iterated function system models, including recent developments in IFS representation, and explores algorithms for creating and manipulating fractal objects as well as techniques for implementing the algorithms. In addition, the book includes an extension of the classical IFS model to n-D case and integration of fractal and vector models. The use of practical examples helps demonstrate the implementation and application of IFS models. The book contains pseudo-code samples for the convenience of graphics application programmers.
