Understanding the dynamics of disease is of ultimate importance particularly in terms of risk assessment and evaluation of intervention policies against a large-scale epidemic outbreak. However most of the information is available after the spread itself, and preemptive assessment is far from vital. As such modeling health-care systems and emerging diseases have become an interesting areas of research and professional development.

Mwangi is a Lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is well versed in the discipline of Computer Science having studied Mathematics and Computer Sciences from the Same University before proceeding for his MSc. and Ph. D in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi.
