Beschreibung
This book introduces the principle of scaling of geographic space with applications in urban studies. Some classic methods such as space syntax are extended, and some new concepts such as head/tailed division rule and natural city are proposed for further studies at a city scale. Volunteered geographic information (VGI) is introduced and adopted in several urban studies such as navigation service, urban sprawl and traffic jams.

Dr. Xintao Liu completed his graduate studies with a Ph.D. from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) in 2012. His current research interests are in the areas of Space Syntax, Human mobility, Web 3D, Big Data, Transportation.
