Beschreibung

People living in a mountainous country like Nepal have been facing many problems, mainly due to the unstable landscape. Water-induced disaster problems including soil erosion, debris flow, landslides, and flooding are common in the middle mountains and the lower regions of Nepal. Debris flows and landslides in the upper part and flooding in the lower region of the country frequently occur during the main monsoon months of July and August. Extreme climatic events are increasing in recent years. A far greater proportion of the population is negatively affected by flooding which impacts economic growth and individual livelihoods. Integrated studies are essential to minimize the impacts of flooding. Governmental bodies, policymakers, and Scientific communities need to pay more attention to cope with the impacts of climate change and its associated impacts of flooding.
