This book is a collection of peer-reviewed and presented papers from the 2025 15th International Conference on Environmental Science and Engineering (ICESE 2025). The conference was held in Yokohama, Japan during September 19-21, 2025. It brought together scholars, researchers, and practitioners in the field of environmental science and engineering in a common forum to share their insights, discuss current environmental issues, and explore innovative solutions aimed at fostering sustainability and resilience in the face of environmental challenges. The book includes topics such as global environmental change and ecosystems management, water treatment residuals, air pollution and control, carbon capture and storage, solid waste management, environmental restoration and ecological engineering, water resources and river basin management, and wastewater and sludge treatment, among others. Autorenporträt
Dr. Xueming Chen is a professor in College of Environment and Safety Engineering, Fuzhou University, China. He received his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia, in 2017. He worked as a Marie Curie fellow and postdoc at the Process and Systems Engineering Centre, Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, Denmark, from 2017 to 2020. So far, he has over 100 high-quality journal publications, leading to an h-index of 38. At the moment, he also serves as an (associate) editor for Journal of Environmental Management (Elsevier) and Environmental Research (Elsevier).
