Lakes are the most dramatic and picturesque features of our global landscape, have rich endowment of resource values, and are major components of the hydrological cycle. They sustain human livelihoods, support economic activities, provide habitat for biodiversity, and offer important aesthetic and spiritual values. Morphology and Sedimentology of the Lake are fundamental characteristics to understand the functioning of an aquatic ecosystems. The present book will help the reader to acquire perception about the morphology and sedimentological characteristics of the Kodaikanal Lake ecosystem situated in the Western-ghats of India.

Dr. P. Balamurugan and Dr. S. Vasudevan, are researcher of Earth Sciences, Annamalai University, India. Expertise in the Field of Lake/ Wetland geochemistry, sedimentology and Geospatial Techniques. They have published research articles in reputed national and international journals and contributed chapters in books and edited volume.
