Presently river basin consider as the planning unit or planning region and every region has its own tradition, custom, culture, belief, social organization, social and cultural integration, economic activities etc. the lively hood pattern is very much sculptured by the neighboring river, that is why along with study of physical condition of a region it is equal important to study the perception of dwellers of the concerning area. Only then the real picture will come to our knowledge which is very much essential not only for the students or researchers but also for the planers to sketch an appropriate plane. This book will also provide a framework for learning the necessary skills in a way that emphasizes the uniqueness of physical and socio economic study of a region.It is found out that river is still very much significant in our life although a number of people wanted to use the river without giving their friendly hand towards it, but some people also exist who think about their river they love the river by heart which must consider the prime objective in the contemporary world for sustainable development as well as the survival of our society.

Amborish Das (M.A.in Geo./B.Ed/NET in Geo./DMGIS Course in NATMO/ NCC/NSS) was born in 1987, is a teacher of Bhatda B. J. H. School. Presently he is engaged in research work in geography of Geography Dept., Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, WB, India.
