This book entitled Earthquake in Nepal: A miserable environmental hazard visited by nature has been written in the context of the devastating earthquake happened in Nepal-2015. It incorporates aspects of earthquake, a case of Nepal and history including conclusion. Nepal lies in a seismically active region at the boundary between Indian and Tibetan tectonic plates. Earthquakes are caused mainly due to disequilibrium in any part of the earth resulted by various factors inviting hazardous effects. The world distribution of earthquakes shows that earthquake belts are closely associated with the weaker zones of the globe. Microseismic monitoring is an efficient tool used for seismic surveillance allowing a fast post-earthquake rescue operation. The case of earthquake occurred in April, 2015 proved disastrous to the vulnerable regions. It can be taken as a lesson to mitigate massive loss of lives and properties in general and isostatically weaker zones in particular. This book will be helpful for those who are interested to know about earthquake in general and environmentalists, geologists, geographers, natural scientists and students in particular.

Shiva Kant Dube is a student of geography and has been teaching geography as Assistant Professor in Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He stood first in Intermediate level, second in Bachelor level in Nepal and stood 1st rank in M.Sc. He received scholarships, prizes and awarded by "Academic Excellence Awards". He is also serving as editor of journals.
