Beschreibung

Can we imagine a dynamic and prosperous African agriculture capable of feeding rural producers, urban population and responding to a more solvent regional and international demand, able to adapt to climate change? This dream can become reality if African leaders could act quickly and implement concerted strategies, rational and sustainable management of resources focusing on the preservation of biodiversity and adopt a reasonable and responsible policy with regard to "GMO" hegemony. Make African agriculture sustainable involves deepen knowledge on production systems, marketing and consumption patterns. Question under debate in Africa is whether aid is "part of the solution" or "part of the problem". As world enters an area of withdrawal and of each one for oneself, aid will be scarce and there is a need of the emergence of other generation of more engaged African researcher who, in addition of identifying the stakes and challenges to be addressed, has the audacity to holding leaders accountable.
