Iraq is one of the worlds petroleum-rich countries. In near future it could become one of the main producers, because it is endowed with multiple petroleum systems that include Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic rocks. The Khabbaz oil field is one of the Iraqi oil fields with its multiple pay zones similar to most of the northern Iraq oil fields, which produces from Tertiary and Cretaceous(Qamchuqa Reservoirs ). This formation represents the important Cretaceous reservoir all over Iraqi oil fields and extending to Arabian Gulf, the Upper Qamchuqa unit in Khabbaz oil field is the goal of this study. It's located 23 km to the west to northwestern of Kirkuk city in north Iraq, with around 20 Km length and 4 Km width. Despite of its comparatively small size; it is one of the giant Iraqi oil fields. The Upper Qamchuqa carbonate is one of the most prolific Khabbaz reservoirs with 156 to 180m thickness. Petrophysical characteristics are studied from a group of data and tools selected from ten wells including the Wireline log data (LLD, LLs, ILD, ILm, µSFL, CNT, FDC, BHC,and GR); in addition to the lithologic description of core interval, thin sections and core plugs laboratory measurement.

Fouad Mohammad Qader, Date of Birth: 01/07/1966; in Sulaimani / Kurdistan- Iraq Graduated in Geology Department University of Salahadeen Erbil and MSc in petroleum geology at Baghdad University, and Ph.D in reservoir Geology at Sulaimani University. Having more than 20 years of teaching in fields of petroleum geology and well logging.
