This book offers the basic knowledge to understand the genesis of different mineral ores. It is written in a simple way that the non-specialist can go through smoothly. I trust that this book will be useful to both scholars and practitioners, wherever they work. This book is written based on geoscientific aspects of mineral deposits, including their origin and geological characteristics. I concentrated mainly on the different geologic processes by which the ores are generated and concentrated. Tens of images from different sources are found to let the reader easily imagine the multiple formation processes of the different ores. It can be considered as a main course for the underground level, however, it will add basic important information to the postgraduate candidates. This book provides a panoramic view over the whole field of economic geology.

AbdelMonem Soltan is a professor of Applied Mineralogy at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He got his Ph.D. in applied mineralogy from Ain Shams University, Egypt, in 2007. He published 20 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and joined 16 international conferences. AbdelMonem Soltan is currently doing research on ceramics and concretes.
