The book weights on fundamentals of the molecular symmetry and discusses the detail of the group theory with its various applications. One of the main features of this book is a comprehensive discussion of various physical properties of molecules and the explanation of those physical properties by using group theory as a mathematical tool. Moreover, plenty of examples are included which will guide the reader how to carry out several symmetry operations and how molecules undergo changes over symmetry operation. The first chapter explains the various types of symmetry elements and operation of molecules, whereas the second chapter mainly focuses on group theory which is a crucial mathematical tool for prediction of certain physical properties of the molecules. Overall, this book is an undoubtedly inclusive overview of the molecular symmetry present in the molecules. This book is written especially for the undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dr Haresh D. Nakum is a TA-Chemist at ONGC, Hazira, Surat, Gujarat, India. He did his BSc (Chemistry; 2010), MSc (Inorganic chemistry; 2012) and Ph. D. (Chemistry 2017) from the MK Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. He has authored/co-authored many research papers in International reviewed high impact journals.
