Liquid crystals are considered as the fourth state of matter. Their properties are intermediate between that of the crystalline solid state and that of the liquid state. Liquid crystals flow like a liquid, but they are anisotropic compounds. This book consist of general introduction of liquid crystal and their various properties and application and usage of it. Liquid crystals are associated in various fields of chemistry and physics. An overview about all that information is being written by authors in this book.

Dr. Nirav Shah is working as Research Scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. he has completed his Ph.D under the guidance of Prof. H. S. Joshi in heterocyclic chemistry at Saurashtra University, Rajkot. Rupali Maheta is currently doing Ph.D. in synthesis of liquid crystal derivatives and heterocyclic synthesis under the guidance of Dr.U.C.Bhoya.
