Animal antibiotics make our food supply safer and people healthier. Antibiotics are a critical tool to prevent, control and treat disease in animals. In doing so, they also reduce the chance of bacterial transmission from animals to humans. Florfenicol is a drug used in veterinary medicine, and all the previous reported methods were mainly directed towards its assay in biological fluids. In the point of the pharmaceutical analysis view, any drug in its pharmaceutical formulations needs to be evaluated chemically (content % and stability). Therefore, we deemed it useful to develop simple, direct methods utilizing the easily available, easy-to-use, cheap and robust spectrophotometric methods that can offer good precision for the routine quality control analysis and stability studies of florfenicol in its dosage form.

Dr. Shaza Shantier,an assistant professor, is working at University of Khartoum since 2005. She is an editor and reviewer in international journals. She has twenty published articles and many forthcoming researches. Dr. Mohammed Elimam is PhD student at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Khartoum. He has six published papers.
