The work published in this book is purely research based and represent a field that remained relatively unknown to science of the mining environment. The use of Deep Sea Tailing Placement is still a new method of disposing mine tailing waste into great depths of the ocean. Studies on the adverse implications of these wastes on the oceanic environment is still scarce. This book covers relevant information on DSTP science as well as forging a way to assess potential impacts on the receiving environment. It presents a new face of mining and environmental pollution science, but what makes it more interesting is that environmental impact assessment has to be traced all the way down to the seafloor.
Autorenporträt
The author is currently working as an Environmental Geochemist for aquatic ecology with a mining company in his home country, Papua New Guinea. This book is based on his dissertation for the Degree of Bachelor of Natural Science with Honours at the University of Goroka in the same country.
