Beschreibung

Burgeoning enormous pressure on water resources and escalating cost of wastewater treatment has motivated the research on some economically and environmentally viable alternative to wastewater treatment. Wastewater reuse and treatment through non-edible, flowering and ornamental species gives a practical solution to the problem. This book is written on the basis of research work been conducted on Constructed Wetland Systems, for the purpose of understanding domestic wastewater treatment efficiency of various plant species at different Hydraulic Retention Time. The book presents technical exposure to constructed wetland design, installation and treatment at various physico-chemical levels of wastewater contamination. It also recommends and suggests the best suitable species for constructed wetland on larger scale under similar environmental conditions. The book can be an excellent guidance and reference for students of environmental science, environmental engineers and for any environmental lover who want a sustainable solution for grey water at household level.
