This book is a step towards identification and mapping of alternate semi-dwarfing genes to the widely used sd1 gene in green revolution. This will broaden the genetic base to overcome the vulnerability to sudden outbreak of pests and diseases.

Dr. Siddhartha Swarup Jena pursued B.Sc. (Agriculture) in 2007 from A.N.G.R Agril. University, Bapatla and M. Sc. (Biotechnology) in 2009 from G.B.P.U.A&T, Pantnagar. He pursued Ph.D degree in Biotechnology in 2015 with ICAR SRF from PJTSAU, Hyderabad. He has qualified both CSIR and ICAR NET exam. Presently working in agril. dept. Govt. of Odisha.
