What if certain pathogenic microorganisms still find their way into our drinking water, despite being treated at the water plants? The World Health Organization (WHO) and all countries' Ministries of Health have raised concerns about many sources and vehicles of diseases, among which is water. It is still quite unfortunate that most water supplies meant for drinking and domestic purposes are not potable because they fall below the WHO standards for drinking water. This book explains possible reasons behind the falling standard, as well as proffers solutions to this health-threatening issue.

Tolulope Joshua Ashaolu obtained his BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from University of Ilorin (Nigeria), where he became interested in water and food microbiology. He proceeded to University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka) to study Molecular and Applied Microbiology (MSc). Presently, he researches into functional foods and health nutrition in Thailand.
