The book titled "Transgenic Resistance against Rice Tungro" is a book which covers in detail the losses caused by Tungro disease in rice, agents responsible for its transmission,Different isolates causing the disease,Different methods of controlling the disease and most importantly controlling the disease by developing resistance against the virus by using molecular markers in different varieties of Rice.The procedure of using markers for developing resistance and phenotypic screening to confirm the transferred resistance was clearly mentioned in this book with pictures and results obtained from the done work.

Jyothsna.M has completed her Msc(Agriculture) in the discipline of Plant Breeding and Genetics from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. During her Post Graduation she has done work on Transgenic Resistance for Tungro Disease in Rice Using Molecular Markers.She was awarded Gold medal in BSc(Ag) for securing highest OGPA and got ICAR-JRF fellowship.
