The book details the research work and their results obtained on the feeding trails and the evaluation of efficacy of different types of feeds (fresh, processed and combinational natural diets and the formulated pellet diets)for the juveniles of the green mud crab Scylla serrata. The present book gives an attempt (1) to evaluate the efficacy of conventionally used feeds and to identify suitable conventional feed combinations for mud crab culture, (2) to elucidate the energy budget for juvenile mud crabs, (3) to estimate the dietary protein requirements and (4) to evaluate the efficacy of various lipid supplements in formulated diets of mud crab. The book is organized into eight chapters.

Dr. Unnikrishnan, did his M.F.Sc. (Marine Aquaculture) from CMFRI, Kochi, India, and Ph.D. (Marine Biology) from Cochin University of Science & Technology, India. He has 15 years of research experience in the field of marine sciences, and environmental science. He has more than 20 international publications/ proceedings in the field.
