This book describes about the factors of sustainability of agricultural land-uses including biophysical and socioeconomic aspects. Application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in assessing factors of sustainability and sustainability as a whole at landscape level and modelling sustainable land-use options using GIS is explained through a case study conducted in Thailand. Developing models to assess sustainability of agricultural land-uses at individual farm level is also discussed through the case study. This book is a useful text for university students and researchers who are interested in land degradation, land evaluation, land-use sustainability and GIS applications in such areas.

The author of this book Dr Mrs Nalina Gnanavelrajah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. She obtained her Doctoral Degree in Natural Resources Management from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and M.Phil Degree in Soil Science from PGIA, Sri Lanka
