Beschreibung
Groundnut is the rich source of protein, apart from being a major oilseed in many countries. After harvest and when dried pods are stored, the first visitor would be the groundnut pod borer. If allowed unchecked, it will proliferate in numbers and the entire container will turn in to a powder and insects. So it assumes a very big challenge for the farmers, mainly and traders, who indent to stock for good price, have to be vigilant in checking the storage containers for the occurrence of this dreaded beetle. Hence it becomes necessary to bring to the knowledge of the farmers and other clienteles on the management of the beetle. This Monograph elucidates the possible management options and the detailed information on the alternate hosts of this insect. The biology is given for information of the students. I hope this Monograph will be useful for reference also.
