Trees have important cultural or historic significance to individual and local communities. Nowadays phytodiversity is being disappearing due to deforestation, urbanization and rapid depletion meeting various human needs. In this scenario, an urgent attention has taken to protect this precious idol (Trees) from rarity and depletion. This book is to highlight the value of trees and their ecological and economical significance with respect to the particular case study.

Dr. Binu Thomas, Assistant Professor in Centre for Post Graduate & Research Department of Botany, St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, Calicut, Kereala. He has authored for 6 articles in edited books and more than 100 research articles. His research interests are including Plant Systematics, Ecology, Ethnobotany and Biodiversity Conservation.
