Of all the ecosystems, forest is the most complex and self pertaining, having the greatest diversity in genepool in terms of flora and funa. The aim of the book to investigate the phytosociological characteristics of tropical dry deciduous forest of Midnapore district in the State of West Bengal of India. Different parameters selected for the study are stratification, phenology, quantitative analysis of tree and herb species, population structure and annual diameter increment of some dominant tree species of the area.

Dr. Mallick, Assistant Professor at the PG Dept. of Botany, Ramananda College, The University of Burdwan, West Bengal, INDIA. He qualified GATE in 1992. Dr. Mallick awarded Ph.D degree in 2004 from Vidyasagar University, India. He has 20 years of research experiences. He has also been honored as Fellow from ISTE, BHU, India.
